FRGSL is comprised of recreation and travel softball teams. The Rec programs consist of both Spring and Fall Seasons and are open to girls in Grades K thru 12. While most of our players reside in the Flemington - Raritan Township area, the Rec program is also open to those who live in neighboring townships. The Rec programs are focused on teaching the fundamentals of the game while having fun. 

The divisions for both spring and fall are shown below:

SPRING RECREATION SOFTBALL:
The spring season runs from mid-March to mid-June. The season officially kicks off with Opening Day, which is held in early April and ends with our End of Season Picnic. Teams typically have one practice during the week, and one game on Saturday. Teams can expect to play 10-12 games during the spring season.

FALL RECREATION SOFTBALL:
The fall season runs from the beginning of September to the end of October. Similar to the spring, teams typically have one practice during the week, and one game on Saturday. Teams can expect to play 8-10 games during the fall season. The fall season is all about fun, learning, and building confidence, making it the perfect opportunity for new players to get involved in softball—regardless of experience! For the 6U and 8U Divisions, the fall season ends with our family-friendly Trunk or Treat Tournament.

SOFTBALL EQUIPMENT:
In both the Spring and Fall Seasons, players need to provide their own glove, fielding mask (required), and black softball pants. Cleats are also recommended. The league will provide a uniform (jersey and socks). Helmets and bats will also be provided by the league, but players are welcome to bring their own. If bringing your own batting helmet, make sure it includes the attached face guard.

INTERLEAGUE PLAY:
In both the Spring and Fall Seasons, our Rec teams typically play intraleague and interleague games. Meaning we play against the teams within FRGSL, but we also play teams from neighboring townships. This is necessary because sometimes we do not have enough players / teams within each division to exclusively play each other. Interleague games are typically played against Delaware Township, Hopewell, Lambertville, Hillsborough, and Branchburg. Away games played at these other township's facilities are generally within 20-30 minutes of the Flemington-Raritan area.

FRGSL HOME COMPLEX:
Fields 13 thru 16 at Lenape Park in Raritan Township is where we call home. We also use the field at Mine Brook Park in Raritan Township.
