Coaching Requirements

All Rec and Travel coaches (head and assistant) are required to complete the following 2 requirements:

1. USA Softball Background Check - to complete this requirement go to https://nesb.registerplay.com/pages/home and create a free account. Once your account is created you will have access to a "dashboard" page along the top blue ribbon. On the Dashboard page, under the "My Family" tab there is a little blue button for "Compliance." Click the Compliance button and complete the background check.

It's highly recommended to complete the background check on a computer, as the mobile pages may be formatted differently.

2. Safe Sport Online Training - This can also be accessed through the Dashboard --> Compliance button. As shown in the picture below, follow the instructions if you're a 1st time or Returning User for SafeSport. Once your training is completed, please upload the certificate using the prompt shown in the picture below.

Please note the following schedule for Safe Sport (as of 1/14/26):
- Year 1: SafeSport Trained Core Course. This is the initial 90-minute training.
- Year 2-4: Annual Refresher Course. To maintain certification, participants must take one 30-minute refresher course each year in sequential order.
Refresher 1 - Recognizing and Reporting Misconduct
Refresher 2 - Preventing Misconduct
Refresher 3 - Creating a Positive Sport Environment
- Year 5: The cycle repeats with the SafeSport Trained Core Course.
